YORK, William J.
85, of St. Pete, FL, passed away Friday, June 15 surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife Rose of 59 years, his children, Christine, James, Kathleen, Robert and William, Jr. along with 12 grandchildren. Bill was born in Toledo, Ohio, son of Norman and Helen York. He attended Jesuit High School and Tampa University. He was a fisherman, an avid photographer and a life-long devout Catholic. He was a member of St. Raphael’s Parish in St. Petersburg. He has two surviving siblings, Peter York of Seffner, FL and Elizabeth Croke of Largo, FL. Visitation will be in St. Petersburg at the Anderson-McQueen Funeral Home (2201 Dr. M.L. King Street N.) on Friday, June 22 from 11am to 12pm. Following the visitation, mass will be celebrated at St. Raphael’s Catholic Church at 1:00. Interment will follow at Sunnyside Cemetery located at the 1900 block of 54th Ave. North in St. Petersburg.
