Obituary of Frances Elizabeth Lewis

Lewis, Frances Elizabeth, 84 of Seminole, passed away on Saturday, June 30, 2018. She was born in New Orleans, LA, on April 6, 1934 to the late Elizabeth (O’Connor) & Joseph Laurie. Frances (Fran) never shied away from the spotlight. She loved to dance and could be found often dressed to the nines wearing one of her signature brooches at the Elks Club with her partner Paul. She was an avid bowler and loved Sunday dinners with the family. Even though she lived in Florida for a long time, New Orleans food and music never left her soul. Beloved mother survived by 5 children, Jerry Lewis (Diane), Jeanne Marie Kinkade, Tom Lewis (Robin), Laurie Tudor, Lisa Hood (David); 7 grandchildren Todd Headley (Erica), Tony Lewis (Hannah), Jennifer Matherne (Chris), Alyson Ronan (Jared), Kelly Whited (Jon), Ashley Hood, Matthew Hood; 3 great grandchildren, Lana Headley, Caleb Whited, Ronan Matherne; brothers, Donald Haag, Jimmy Haag; Significant Other & Dance Partner of over 20 years, Paul Laisure. In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Peter C. Lewis; siblings, Lawrence Laurie, John Rome, & Joseph Laurie, Jr. A Celebration of Life will be held for family and friends at Anderson McQueen Funeral Home, 2201 Dr. MLK, Jr St. N. on Tuesday, July 17^th at 4:00pm with services to begin at 5:00pm. The family requests that you honor Frances’ wishes and wear bright colors to the Celebration of Life. Flowers can be sent to the Celebration of Life or memorial donations can be made in her honor to Suncoast Hospice.
