Obituary of Nancy Ann Martindill

Nancy Ann Martindill was born on December 22, 1941, Middletown, New York, and passed into life eternal on July 25, 2018.  She will be deeply missed by her husband, Roger; daughter Samantha: grandson Joey; sister-in-law Debbie and her husband Pat; brother-in-law Billy, sister- in-law Helen and cousin Georgine and her husband Aaron; many friends and her and Roger’s fur baby Ziva. 

Nancy graduated from Dan McCarty High School in 1960 then attended Indian River Junior College and later American College of Business with a degree in Business in in 1962.  That is where Roger and her met and started courting.  Her employment over the years included: Kennedy Space Center; Palm Beach Kennel Club; National League of Post Masters, UCF Psychology Department and UCF Bookstore. 

She put her endeavor to become a nurse after finishing clinicals on hold to take care of Samantha full time when she was born.  That was the best job she ever had and she excelled at it.  Her daughter is a better person for that love and care.  Nancy made her the strong woman she is today.

She will be remembered by her daughter for her strength; dignity and total selflessness and so much more.  She very rarely thought of herself.

Roger will remember her as a loving wife who provided love, support and dedication to help Roger in his career both when he was in the Navy and with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

Nancy especially enjoyed her reading and gardening.  She was an active member for many years of the St. Petersburg Garden Club.  She loved her dogs and her Lord and had a strong faith.  She will be missed at Christ Lutheran in so many aspects but especially for her devotion as a member of the Alter Guild, which she did until she became ill.

A funeral will be held on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Nancy and Roger’s beloved church, Christ Lutheran Church located at 3451 30th Ave N, St Petersburg, FL 33713.  Reception afterwards there at the church.
