Obituary of James Frederich Huelster, Sr.
Huelster, Sr., James (Jim) Frederich, 80, of St. Petersburg, FL went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 29, 2018. Jim was born in Sullivan, IL in 1938. He attended Sullivan High School and then moved to Lexington, MO to attend Wentworth Military Academy, where he joined the ROTC and earned his Associates degree. After graduation, Jim served 4 years in the US Army. After his service, he joined his parents in St. Petersburg, FL. Jim worked as a mortgage broker for United Companies and as a realtor for Sun Cove Realty. He attended Clearview United Methodist Church, where he served as treasurer for the Methodist Men’s Group and was a member of the financial committee. Jim loved being outdoors, and his hobbies included bowling and fishing, and he loved to dance. His favorite pastime, however, was golf – both playing it and watching it on TV. He also loved spending time with his children and his grandchildren. Jim was preceeded in death by his wife, Margaret Dugan Huelster, his father, Maynard Huelster, his mother, Myrtle Huelster and his brother, William (Bill) Huelster, Sr. He is survived by his longtime companion, Kathryn Prescott, his daughter, Laurie Huelster-Bociek, son, James Frederich Huelster, Jr., daughter Linda Huelster Crotty, their mother, Malinda Huelster and son-in-law, Anton (Ted) Bociek, as well as grandchildren, Breanna Crotty, Hannah Bociek and Logan Bociek. His charming smile and gentle spirit will forever lovingly be missed. Visitation with reception will be at 10:00 AM on Thursday, August 9, at Anderson McQueen Funeral Home, 7820 38th Ave. N., with the funeral service at 11:00 AM.
