Steve and I had kept in touch ever since his BMS days (way back when). We especially connected over football and used to engage in small monitory bets for fun. Funny thing, he would always lose the bets; which is why I affectionately nicknamed him CHUMP. I just did a search online because it has been forever since I heard from him. I am deeply saddened by the news of his passing. He was a such a wonderful, caring person.
CHUMP, I hope that you are resting in eternal peace. My condolences go out to his wife, brother and the many people whose life he touched.

Dear relatives and friends,
My husband and I both had the pleasure of working with Steve as a close colleague for many years at Pfizer, and then subsequently after we moved onto other companies. He really was a delightful man - intelligent, funny, quick to help out, and always personable. We are incredibly sad to hear of your premature loss, and hope you can find solace in fond memories.
Our sincerest condolences,
Ed and Rachel Harrigan

Please accept my deepest sympathies! I've only known Steve a couple of years through work, but have had opportunities to work closer with him this past year. He was always so nice to me, had a smile for everyone, was easy to talk to, and always seemed to have a mischievous glint in his eyes. I'll miss him. God bless your family.

Shirley, please know how deeply sorry we are at this turn in your life. Although we didn’t know Stephen real well, we knew he was a man of great love and concern for all, especially our animals! He always had time to stop and greet my Lucy and Bella, not to mention Jaimies girls, Sofie and Demi. He will indeed be missed by many. I hope you will lean on me and other neighbors as you continue to grieve. Do not hesitate to call or come by whenever you feel the need to talk. Or walk! I look forward to seeing you and Louis in the future. Sincerely, Linda.

I am so very sorry to hear of Steve’s passing. Steve and I grew up in the same neighborhood in Saddle Brook, NJ, living two houses apart. We were very good friends and our dads were also friends. I have many memories of playing basketball at his house and at the elementary school we went to. Our houses both backed up to the schoolyard and we would just jump the fence to play all summer long. As Frank Testa had posted, Steve had a hoop attached to his garage that was much lower than the standard height, enabling us to dunk like we were all 7’ tall, while shouting out the names of our basketball heroes. I also have fond memories of neighborhood birthday parties with Steve and Jeff, watching movies in his basement when cable TV first came out, his parents and his grandfather, and blasting Bruce Springsteen’s Born to Run on his car stereo when he first got his license.
Steve and I lost touch over the years, but the Horohonich household holds many childhood memories for me. He was a great guy.
My deepest condolences to his family and friends.

Shirley and Jeff please accept my deepest condolences during this terribly sad and painful time.
I have only known Steve since 2005-2006 when we first had an opportunity to work together when he was at ARC. My fellow neuropsychologist, Tom Crook, and I were so impressed with Steve and Tom Hochadel that we formed a partnership, Cognitive Research Corporation.
Over the past 12+ years Steve continued to impress; professionally and personally. He was the person in CRC that everybody felt most comfortable speaking with … it wasn’t just the candy in the dish on his desk… it was his empathy, honesty, and concern for others. We all learned that we could rely upon and trust Steve.
I will miss talking sports with Steve, especially football (including the Raiders and Saints). I will also greatly miss being with Steve at professional meetings where he did an extraordinary job of representing CRC. Everybody – including total strangers – were comfortable speaking with Steve. He made those meetings so much more enjoyable with his charm, humor and genuineness.
Steve, we’ll never stop thinking of you.

My deepest condolences to Shirley and Jeff. Steve and I were best friends growing up in Saddle Brook. He was like a brother to me and another son to my parents as well as a brother to my sisters. I will always have fond memories how Steve's parents treated me like their own son and welcomed me in their house as if I lived there. I'll always cherish the times we spent just hanging out or playing basketball in his driveway and dunking on the 8' high rim (trying to emulate our professional heroes).
Steve and I lost contact over the years but thankfully he reached out to me a few years ago and our friendship was re-kindled and it was as if we didn't miss a beat. Steve couldn't have done more for my family and me when my father passed away in March. His presence and reminiscing about my father and our childhood was a tremendous source of healing. Steve was blessed with the gift of making others feel good about themselves and that and many other great qualities will be sorely missed of my great friend.
God Bless you Steve. I'll always think of you

Steve was a genuinely nice person, and always had a kind word for others. I worked with him at Pfizer and later at ARC, and in all those years, he was always professional, focused on solving the problems rather than assigning blame, and also recognized the need to balance work with the rest of life. This combination of qualities is rare, especially in the fast-paced pharma and CRO industries. I know he loved living in Florida, with all the recreational options that the milder winters provided. Deepest sympathy to his family on your loss.

Steve is probably the best boss I've ever had. He always took the time to teach me more about Data Management and believed in my abilities as an employee. I'll never forget the kindness he showed to me in the time I knew him. He always made sure to show that I was appreciated - either with a simple "thank you" or a spontaneous gift card. His genuine concern for people and his willingness to listen when life gets tough is something that I will miss the most. He was a rare and remarkable human being. My condolences to his loved ones.

I think I only had the privilege of talking with Steve once in the elevator on the way up to the office. He was kind and helped me with my new elevator card that was not working for me. We shared a laugh and then headed our separate ways to our desks. I am sad to hear of his passing and that I was not able to get to know him better. He sounds like a wonderful man. My condolences to all his family and friends.

Steve was a friend, a confidante, and just a Good Guy. We worked together for over 15 years but only met in person infrequently. Nonetheless, he always seemed please to see you, offer a friendly word, and sincere interest in what was happening in your life. I will miss knowing he is there to talk to, I will miss my friend, and everyone will miss this special person.

My deepest sympathies to Shirley, Jeffrey and all of those who new Steve as a friend. I was provided a great blessing when Steve moved to Florida 20 years ago. We immediately bonded over our outlook on clinical research, world events, and leisure activities, so much so that two years later we formed our own company - with no money and no clients! We laughed about that up to our finally days together. He was so bright, personable, and honest; it was easy for people to entrust their projects to him and he didn't let them down. From his days working at big pharma to times helping virtual companies with the tiniest of projects; Steve always delivered.
But it wasn't all work for Steve - he loved to play basketball and fish, and was at home talking to anyone, from corporation presidents to the man on the street; Steve genuinely cared about what was happening in your life and was empathetic. That is what I will miss most about my friend: simply talking to him about what was going on in our lives. We would generally sit in his office each morning and talk about what was going on with each of us, the sports highlights or the fishing conditions, or world news. It was such a refreshing and stimulating way to start the day - Those moments, 20 years worth, will never be forgotten and never replaced.
I loved Steve as a brother, and will miss him deeply. God bless you my friend.
