Obituary of Michael Thomas Anderson

Anderson, Michael (Mike) Thomas, 53 of St. Petersburg FL, passed away Saturday October 13, 2018 at Bayfront Hospital of injuries sustained in a boating accident. Born in Pasadena California, Mike lived in St. Petersburg from the age of 3. He graduated from St. Petersburg High School and St. Petersburg Junior College and earned his commercial pilot rating. Mike owned Performance Outboards and Advanced Paint Stripping companies for 15 years and also worked as lead technician at Southern Telephone Systems for 22 years. Mike is survived by his wife, Leslie Fox; his parents, Thomas and Judith Anderson of Denver NC; sister, Lisa Anderson Cannon of Charlotte NC; aunts, uncles, 1 niece and 3 nephews as well as many friends that are considered family. Mike was a friend to all and was always there to help no matter the hour or the problem. Mike was his happiest when he was making others happy and when boating in his Skater for sunrise or sunset cruises. His passions were performance boating, offshore powerboat racing as throttleman and mechanic, winning numerous National and World Championships, flying, cooking (especially spicy foods) and just about any other adrenalin rush. Mike's memorial service will be Saturday, October 27th at Anderson McQueen Funeral Home, Tyrone Chapel. Visitation at 12:00 pm and service at 1:00 pm.
