We knew Perry for many years, as both an avid gardner and genuinely nice human being. He was passionate about his plants, and his family, especially his Grandson, Zachary. He helped to enrich the lives of many in the community in which he lived, through his work at HRS. Perry will be sorely missed by those whose lives he touched. Condolences to his wife Karen and daughter Laura. We love you both.

We are so very sorry, Karen for the loss of Perry. I worked for and learned much from him. He was a highly qualified and fair boss and my experience with him served me well when I became a boss in the hospital system. Perry introduced Sheryl & I to canoeing which became part of our life together for many years. Our canoe trips with you and Perry are cherished experiences. We both imagined Perry into his 90's still paddling Florida rivers, sans plucking a snake from an over-hanging tree branch. Sheryl has memories of Buster as a child at Clearview school events, where her mother and Buster's taught elementary school together for years. We moved back to St Pete a while back and wish we had contacted sooner, instead of spending so much time working on this old house. We just thought there would be more time. Another lesson learned from a good and decent man. Sincerely, Jed & Sheryl Chilton

Such a sweet man and I particularly loved the way he cared about animals. He'd give treats to the kitties he knew in the neighborhood. No one has a garden like his either - beautiful crotons of all varieties.
My condolences, Karen.

I remember Perry, or Buster, as we all called him in High School at St. Pete Hi, as a very warm and happy go lucky individual who never had a bad thing to say about anyone. I am very sorry that I didn't get to spend time with him after we got older, but know he will be missed by his loving wife and family, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Rest in peace Buster...

My thoughts and prayers go out to Karen, Laura and family. Perry was indeed a very special person. I loved his smile and his sweetness. In my mind I can see his smile and the laugh that would go with it. I worked with Perry and for Perry, and I can never remember a time he did anything to offend anyone. He was always considerate of others and their feelings. Marty remembers canoeing with Perry and he is still impressed with his knowledge of plants, birds, and especially snakes. One time when Marty and his cousin Jim Powell were canoeing with Perry they came across a snake, which Marty thought was poisonous; however, Perry picked it up and explained what type of snake it was. Rest in peace!
