Obituary of Newton Perry Edge

Edge, Newton Perry, 72, of St. Petersburg, Florida, passed away on November 9, 2018.  He was born in Rocky Mount, NC and a long-life resident of St. Petersburg.  Born December 25, 1945, he graduated from St. Petersburg High School and Florida Southern College.  Upon graduation, he served as an Officer in the US Army, stationed in the Panama Canal Zone.  He was a member of the 9th Psyops Division at Fort Gullick.  He began his career with Health and Rehabilitative Services as a Senior Human Services Program Specialist for over 30 years.  As a Husband, Father and Grandfather, he created special memories and adventurous life lessons which will never be forgotten.  He was also a passionate environmentalist who loved canoeing and sharing nature with others.  He was an avid gardener, a member of the Florida Croton Society, and an animal lover.  Perry is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Karen Herne Edge, his Daughter, Laura Edge Truong, Son-in-Law, Thuy Truong, Grand Son, Zachary Truong, Fur Baby Snuggles, Sister, Billie Ann Trocke (Mike), Sister, Betsy Edge, Nephew, Michael T. Trocke Jr., (Colette Trocke), his Grand Nephew, Logan Trocke and numerous friends.  A Celebration of Life to be held in late 2018.
