Obituary of Gloria Grace Paine

Paine, Gloria G., 77 of St. Petersburg passed away January 27, 2019 at Suncoast Hospice. Gloria was spunky and sharp right up until she was hospitalized on 1/8/19 after fighting her battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia.  Gloria was born in Warsaw, NY in 1941, the daughter of Paul and Dorothy Stedman. She grew up in Attica, NY, and married her husband, Paul Paine, in 1958. Gloria was a Registered Nurse who cared for others at Genesee County Nursing Home, Genesee Memorial Hospital, Albion and Orleans Correction Facilities, Albion Central School District, and Job Corps of America. Gloria raised 5 beautiful children in Alexander, NY, then later moved to Medina, NY. Gloria and Paul moved to St. Petersburg in 2004. She was a kind and generous person who adored animals, enjoyed traveling, sewing, and lived for spending time with friends and family. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sibling, Paul Gary Stedman, and her son, Timothy Paine. Gloria is survived by her children: Katrina Smith (David), Terry Paine (Debbie), Suzanne Schauf (Richard), Karyn Carpenter (Marty); Grandchildren: Sarah Lidbom (Derek), Leslie Szafranski, Benjamin Paine, Robert Paine, Julie Molloy, Jacob Paine (Erika), Rachel Schauf, Lydia Schauf, Jacky Paine, Maxwell Paine, Katrina Carpenter, Michael Carpenter, Skylar Carpenter; great-grandchildren: Issac Lidbom, Anna Lidbom, Hazel Lidbom, Eliot Szafranski and soon to come, Holden Paine; as well as siblings: Douglas Stedman (Roxanne), William Stedman, and Laurie Stedman (Bill). A Celebration of Gloria's Life will be held on Sunday, February 10 from 2-6 pm at the residence of her daughter, Karyn Carpenter at 3691 27th Ave N, St. Petersburg. Another Celebration of Life will be held at Horseshoe Lake, NY on July 6 at 2:00.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
