Obituary of Tina Dial

Christina Maria (Tina) Dial, 49, passed away at her home in St. Petersburg, Florida, on February 17, 2019. Tina was born August 6, 1969 in New Rochelle, New York. She graduated from New Rochelle High School, and later moved to St. Petersburg, Florida where she worked at Xerox for many years. She studied at Academy for Animal Arts, Orlando, and worked as a pet groomer at Petsmart from 2003.

Tina happily married Derek Harper June 11, 2011. She was preceded in death by her cherished mother, Marie
Morgan. Tina is survived by her beloved husband, Derek Harper, her brother Michael M. Morgan and sister, Missy Morgan, her treasured pets, including 5 dogs, Jake, Layla, Daphne, Lincoln, Maya, a salamander, turtle, CeCe (bird), Priscilla (hedgehog), many rescued animals and countless friends.

Tina was a strong, active SGI-USA Buddhist practitioner, and compassionate faith leader for 29 years. Tina profoundly loved animals, and was never able to say no to rescuing one in need of a loving home. She cared deeply about protecting nature, and had a love of dragonflies and the color purple.

There will be a private celebration of Tina’s life, for family and close friends. At a later date, there will be a special tree-planting ceremony outdoors to honor and include Tina’s deep love of animals and nature.
