Sorry I missed this passing. My Dad, Eugene Hill, was always very fond of his cousin Phil. I think I saw him last at Daddy’s funeral. My condolences.

Dear Sue and Family:
There are just not enough words in the English language to fully describe Phil M.Hill,Sr. All adjectives must end with EST. A superlative life lived with kindness, care, compassion, common sense, laughter, fairness, creativity and humor. All the kind things people say about someone AFTER their death, were true of Phil IN HIS LIFE.
Sue, you were a treasure chest of patience [usually!] even when the brunt of whatever your four guys laid upon you. You were both a blessings and gift in Phil's life.
I pray that in the days ahead, you will each recall with joy, gratitude and appreciation how Phil affected your lives. And may the sunshine of God's ever-present love continue to shine brightly on each of you.
I cannot say "Phil, RIP," because for Phil there was seldom much rest. I choose to say LIP. Live forever in Peace as you did on earth and to God be the glory!.

My heart is heavy with the loss of one of the most selfless, warmest folks I’ve ever known. Phil was the ultimate Supervisor. Firm but fair, Phil created a family atmosphere at our 25th Street Energy Services Dept. New management could learn so much from his style.
Praying for the family. God has another great assistant by his side. R.I.P.

Phil taught us all how to live life to the fullest. Phil was a loving, caring husband, father/grandfather, and friend. Phil raised the bar on how to manage, motivate, train, and lead employees to develop to their fullest potential! In stressful times, Phil brought laughter and levity allowing us to relax yet stay focused on exceeding our goals. Phil had the unique ability to wear two hats, the business hat and the people/caring hat leading us to be the best division in the company. When Phil retired, I adopted his big black chair to use as my own. I sat in the chair moving it to different offices in my career using it to remind me how to treat people. Not with a big paint brush, but to get to know your team which allowed you to paint with a fine brush painting a beautiful mosaic of individuals collaborating together achieving great success! We worked hared and smart not for the company, but because we did not want to let Phil down. Thank you for sharing your life lessons with us, Phil! Thank you, Sue for sharing Phil with us! You and your family will continue to be in our prayers.

Phil and Sue have been our neighbors since 1996 – wonderful, generous people. Phil was the first person to help you out, volunteer his truck for a project or his garbage can for excess yard debris. Always ready with a smile and a wave – my husband, Jim, loved chatting with Phil. His yearly, almost EPIC, Christmas light display was truly a sight to behold. He once gave Jim a 1st place ribbon for the best Christmas light display on 22nd Avenue North – which was a true accomplishment in the eyes of “Chief Judge, Phil”. We will do our best to carry on that tradition in Phil's memory. We will also check in on Sue & Chico – just like Phil would do for us. Rest In Eternal Peace, Phil – The Jaeger’s on 22nd Avenue will miss your smiling face!
