Obituary of Margaret Holman Lynn

Life is too short not to eat dessert first, and if you’re reaching for a cookie, grab two—one for each hand. If Margaret Holman Lynn (born Margaret Wilma Holman in West Chester, PA on February 20, 1934), who entered eternal life on April 27, 2019 at the age of 85, taught her loved ones anything, it was that life is just too sweet not to live it to its fullest.

In fact, Margaret believed this so wholeheartedly, that she outlived her husband, Doyle Luther Lynn by over 20 years: Long enough to double the amount of grandchildren they shared and watch two of them graduate from college. Surviving to carry on Margaret’s legacy are her children and their families. Her son Christopher D. Lynn (Genet) and his three children Christopher, Miniya, and Xavier.  Her daughter Victoria L. Stelter (James Jr.) and their three children Sydney, Ozborne and Elke.

Margaret always valued brain over brawn. She attended Henderson High School (Class of 51), received her bachelors from West Chester University, and masters from Penn State University. She worked as a Speech Pathologist for the Chester County IU in Pennsylvania until she retired in 1992. Just for the fun of it, she worked at H&R Block as a Tax Consultant in Pinellas Park, FL for over 20 years during her “retirement”.

Not only was Margaret an armchair traveler, devouring dozens of books weekly, she was also a world traveler. Her loved ones knew her as the Tampa Bay Lightning’s #1 fan and a true believer in the magic of Disney—as long as no one asked her who her favorite Disney character was.

Margaret was a woman of strong faith and a member of Hope Lutheran Church of St. Petersburg, FL. She was a former member of the Calvary Lutheran Church in West Chester, PA.  A memorial service will take place at Hope Lutheran Church of St. Petersburg, Florida on Saturday June 1, 2019 at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the American Diabetes Association.
