Obituary of William E. Jackson
In peace, William E. Jackson “Pops”, born June 4, 1939, died at home on August 3, 2019. He is survived by his wife Mona Jackson of 57 years; his children David “DJ” Jackson (Laurie) and Dina Rocheleau (Ryan); his grandchildren Danielle Shelburne (Michael), Morgan Humphrey (Nate), Bryanne Nelson, Ryanne Jackson, Dawsyn Rocheleau; and great grandchildren Oaklie Humphrey and Brooks Shelburne. His life modeled LOVE as a husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
He is no longer by our side, but forever in our hearts.
Pops loved his Alabama Football “Roll Tide” and was proud to be a Marine Corps veteran. He graduated from Rollins College where he was a Sigma Nu, Vice President of the Senior Class, President of the Omnipotence Order of Osceola, and member of the baseball and basketball team. Locally, he served as President of the Seminole Junior Warhawks and President of the Westlinks Homeowners Association where he lived in Seminole. Though he worked in various capacities, he preferred working for himself. He owned BJL Construction (building contracting company) and Imron Network (pay telephone company) before retiring to simply enjoy family and life.
A celebration gathering to cherish his memory will take place Thursday, August 8, 2019, 6:30 in the evening, at Friendship Community Church, 4321 Duhme Road, Madeira Beach. Please be casual. We would love if family and friends would dress in the Alabama Crimson Tide “Roll Tide” colors or from the Marine Corps.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Suncoast Hospice, 5771 Roosevelt Blvd., Clearwater, Florida 33760 or Ferndale Public Schools, 871 Pinecrest, Ferndale, MI. 48220 for needed school backpacks and books in Pops’ memory. To send flowers to the family of William Jackson, please visit Tribute Store
