Obituary of Bruce James Walker
Bruce James Walker, Sr, 72, of St. Petersburg, FL, passed away at home on November 16, 2019. He was born in Brooklyn, NY on February 5, 1947 and grew up in Chester, NY. In 1974, he moved with his family to St. Petersburg. He worked and retired from Sanitation after 38 years and continued to work for PSCU as a Security Guard for 27 years until death. He served in the US Army in Vietnam in 1966 to 1968.
He was a man of integrity, very patriotic, loyal, proud, and full of pride. He touched so many lives by giving of his time and spiritual guidance, was an inspiration to all, and will be remembered by many. His spirit will live forever in our hearts.
Bruce was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He will be dearly missed by his wife, Denise; his daughter, Andrea (Carlos); son, Bruce; grandchildren, Brittany, Ryan, Alexis, and Jacci; and sister, Janice (Lee). He also leaves behind a large loving family and many friends.
Bruce's Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2019 from 12-3pm at Anderson-McQueen Funeral Home, 2201 Dr. MLK St. N, St. Petersburg, FL 33704. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bruce's memory to the Fisher House at Bay Pines VA Hospital. Bruce loved God, his family, and his country.
