Obituary of Dorothy Kemp

Mrs. Dorothy Marie Pearce Kemp, 97, of Hartwell, Georgia, formerly of St. Petersburg, FL, wife of the late Frederick Andrew Kemp, Sr., passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2020, at her residence.

Mrs. Kemp was born in Punxsutawney, PA on August 6, 1922, daughter of the late Warren and Bessie Neal Pearce. She was a retired bookkeeper, a founding member of Albright United Methodist Church, and attended Hartwell First United Methodist Church. Her first two jobs in St. Petersburg were at Webb's City and Aunt Hattie's Restaurant.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Dennis Moore of Hartwell; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchilden.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her sons: Frederick Andrew Kemp, Jr. and George Warren Kemp; and siblings: Warren Pearce, Jr., Harold Pearce, and Ruby Harrold.

A Memorial Service and Reception for Dorothy will be held at Anderson McQueen Funeral Home, 2201 Dr. MLK Street North, on Saturday, March 7th from 2:00-3:30pm followed by interment at Memorial Park Cemetery.
