Obituary of James J McCourt

James J. McCourt was born in Pennsylvania and moved to Florida with his family in 1976. Except for a short period of time in Biloxi, MS, he spent the rest of his life here in St. Petersburg.  He graduated from Boca Ciega High School and also attended classes at St. Petersburg Junior College. Jim started his career at Paradyne and then worked at other Tech companies in the area. Because of his physical limitations, he retired on disability.

Jim was kindhearted, thoughtful, intelligent, had a great sense of humor with a wonderful laugh and a twinkle in his eye.  He loved people, chess, trivia, music, and video games. Jim also enjoyed going to movies with his "Movie Buddy" and a trip to RED CARPET NIGHT at Tampa Theatre was the highlight of the year.

Jim is survived by his mother, Geraldine "Jerry" Moffett, brother Richard Moffett and his wife Stephanie of St. Petersburg, and brother Kris McCourt who lives in Arizona.

Jim had many longtime friends, and a lifetime friend John Sweeney who helped him until the end.

Jim was loved and will be missed by everyone.
