Obituary of Josephine Nischo

Josephine Nischo was born in Brooklyn, New York on 8/8/32.  She is predeceased in death by her parents Carmelo and Rose Grasso, her husband Ralph, her brother Leo, sister Angie, sister Rose, sister Katie and sister Susane. Josephine is survived by her sister Carmela her brother John and many nieces and nephews.

Josephine, more affectionately known as "aunt Jo" was a very funny and entertaining person and we always loved having her in our company and she truly loved being with the family.  We spent a lot of time together including trips to Las Vegas (loved those slots), San Francisco, New Orleans, Sicily, Mississippi and Disney.  Aunt Jo's curiosity about the places we visited always amazed us.  One particular trip we made to Vegas where we all went to see the movie "Phantom of the Opera" aunt Jo felt so bad for the Phantom and said "if he had surgery he wouldnt have to look like that".  We all burst out in laughter including her as we all noticed how seriously into this movie she was.  So many memories she left us with and we are ever so grateful she was in our lives.  Her sister Carmela says she will miss all the daily phone calls they made to each other and her brother John said he started to call her a few days ago and realized she is not here anymore.  We are so fortunate to have so many pictures of aunt Jo and you can see on her face she really enjoyed being with the family.  She has touched all of our lives and we cherish each and every moment we spent with her.  Aunt Jo, we all miss you and love you dearly.  This final journey has brought you to your departed family and we are sure you are making them all laugh.

Aunt Jo will be remembered in life for her kindness and generosity as well as her funny sense of humor.

A note from niece Lisa D:

Aunt Jo was a kind funny sister, aunt and person. It came as such a surprise of her sudden passing.  We will never forget the love, happiness and generosity she has shown throughout her life. She will be forever remembered and missed.
