My father taught me to be a better person through his actions and stories.
My father told stories about working on the Precisionaire filter manufacturing line during the hot Florida summers as a teen. I always knew he worked hard and valued a strong work ethic.
In his twenties he moved to New Orleans where he met my Mom. He loved to have a good time. During the past few months my Mom asked him. " Bill when did you know I was the one?" He said "when I took you to the Mardi Gras Ball." My parents fell in love at a ball and they continued to enjoy great parties together through 48 years of marriage. He was happy to entertain and celebrate with friends. He celebrated the end of tee ball season when he coached my brother’s tee ball team. All the boys came over for a pool party and he was so happy passing out trophies. When I was in 6th grade my parents surprised me with a live rock band to play at a Halloween party at the house. When they moved to St. Pete Beach he loved having parties during the boat parade each December. He would throw parties that I would never forget. From his revelry, I learned how he valued his friends and the relationships. He loved to make joyful memories.
In 1993 when I was at GW, my Mom called to tell me my father had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s. We had suspected he may develop it. But here is the amazing part. He would tell you he was getting better every day. No matter what he radiated a positive attitude. This is probably the most dominant of his traits that I will take with me through life. He always saw the silver lining.
Bill taught us what it means to be a wonderful spouse, parent, grandparent, and great grand-parent. He always insisted family came first. He always listened to me when I had trouble. He usually gave a word or two of advice but he did not get upset if I went a different direction. He knew most problems could be solved over a cold glass of homemade lemonade or a chocolate milkshake.
Bill loved the concept of random acts of kindness. He thought if everyone in the world was looking at how they could help others it would make the world a better place.
Dad because of you I will work hard, celebrate life, stay positive, love my children and value kindness. Dad the love you showed all of us and the lessons you shared will live on forever.
Thank you Dad!

Bill was the best neighbor anyone could be lucky enough to have. Always kind, pleasant and friendly to talk to and the yard was always gorgeous. We learned allot from Bill over the years and enjoyed many special times. Our prayers are with the family now and always.
Love, Chris

I am proud to have known Bill Beck, truly a nice guy. I had the pleasure of working with him for many years at Precisionaire, where his team made a big and positive difference for product quality in that industry. I enjoyed golf outings with him and Lisette at the tiny Palm View Hills course in Palmetto -- what we lacked in skill we more than compensated for in fun. I was impressed with Bill's efforts to fund Parkinson’s research and engage others in that endeavor. Yes, Bill was truly a nice guy and I'm confident God had his arm around his shoulders often throughout the years. My condolences and best wishes to all his family and friends who recognize the gift Bill was to us and who will now miss him greatly.

I only got the pleasure of knowing he and his best friend, his wife Lisette for a few short years. His spirit and determination were larger than anyone I know. The palpable love that he felt for his family was undeniable. I will miss you but rejoice in the fact that you touched my life and I got to know you.
