Obituary of Alan B Satterwhite

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Alan B. Satterwhite (Al), 73 years old, of St. Petersburg, Florida, after complications of a severe stroke, suddenly on the early morning of June 6, 2020.

Alan was born on May 27, 1947 to Alice Steshetz and Travis Frank Satterwhite in Detroit, MI.

As a boy he lived in many cities growing up, eventually moving to Columbus, OH.

His career started in accounting and blossomed into establishing a successful assisted living company in the early 1990s. He moved on to serve as an independent business consultant. In addition to his many professional achievements he was a proud participant and leader in various service, financial leadership, and recreational organizations, namely Big Brothers Big Sisters, Financial Executives International, and Power Squadron.  His desire to help people was inherent, and his long and varied career is a testament to his desire to help people succeed.

Alan spent the last 11 years in St. Petersburg, Florida living a quiet lifestyle with Mary enjoying retirement and doing what they loved – boating, gardening, traveling and meeting new people whenever he had the chance.  He enjoyed having his family visit during these years and loved watching his grandsons growing into young men.

He is preceded in death by parents, Travis Frank and Alice Satterwhite. He is survived by his beloved companion, best friend and partner Mary Hammond. Loving father of daughters Jennifer Lundy, and Amy Anthony (Jamie), and their mother, Yvonne Satterwhite. Proud grandfather of grandsons, Patrick, Jameson, and Liam Lundy. Dear brother of Mike Satterwhite (Debbie), sister Lee Ann Pausky (Paul), and uncle to Alexandra Pausky, and niece Megan Cook and her sons Will and Grant.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2020 from 11a – 1p in St. Petersburg, Florida.

In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Alan's name to the Boys & Girls Club of America.
