Obituary of Carol Wise
September 19, 2020 we lost an amazing person; a wife, mother, grandma aka Gma, GiGi, aunt, sister and friend. At 7 a.m. she took her last breath on earth, but found herself present with God.
Her greatest joy was knowing you. Her greatest hope is that you knew she loved you.
Knowing her meant that you knew her devotion was first to God. Her final message was I love you, choose Jesus. She didn’t mince words, truly that simple. She’d find it an honor to know that she was able to have a positive impact on your walk with God. She loved praying us all through some of our darkest moments and rejoicing with us when we had our victories.
As a mother she loved all of us almost to a fault. She said her one wish is that she would have been a better mother. If you ask any of her children, we’d all say we couldn’t have had a better mother. She loved us fiercely, respected our differences, shared in our passions, listened and embraced us. She corrected us when we were being ridiculous and truly didn’t have a problem putting us in our place. She rejoiced with every victory and shed a tear with every disappointment. She was so much more than any of us deserved. She was a true example of how God loves his children.
As a grandma she was funny and would put on a pink wig for pictures, suck helium out of a balloon, toss a baseball, sit by a fire, dance because you asked her to. She’d snuggle the new babies, hand them back for a diaper change, feed them, and rock them to sleep. As they got older she’d be front row for the weddings, celebrate the birth of her great grand babies, take the calls that said I love you, and grandma will you pray for me.
I’d like to think that knowing Carol was knowing an extension of our Heavenly Father. The greatest honor any of us could give her memory is to walk whole heartedly in service of Jesus.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Cornelia. Her siblings Gil, Mert and Ann. Her son Ray and granddaughter Danielle.
Her husband Ray will cherish the years, remember the days and long to have the seconds back.
She has left us all with lasting memories
Her brother Ed will miss his baby sister.
Her children and their spouses will cherish her guidance and love as long as we live.
