James Condon

Obituary of James Michael Condon

Condon, James “Jim,” 58, of St. Petersburg passed away Sunday, October 25, 2020, surrounded by his family.  A long-time resident of St. Petersburg and graduate of the University of South Florida, Jim was a devoted husband to Bonnie, and beloved father to Thomas, Andrew, Caroline, Patrick and James. Jim was a selfless and industrious man who accomplished more before noon than most of us can in a day, and it was usually in the service of his family, friends, or others in need. He was resourceful and pragmatic, had an uncanny knack for problem-solving, and freely shared his many gifts. He had a keen eye for architectural design, could fix anything, and he and Bonnie were always gracious in opening their home to others.  He poured his life into those around him; a faithful husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend. Jim relished a challenge, which fueled his passion for endurance athletics, leading him to complete many long-distance triathlons and encourage his entire family to compete in the sport. He and his family were strong supporters of youth and collegiate triathlon as well as cross country running.  He was a valued member of St. Raphael's Catholic Church for 45 years and a founding member of its Knights of Columbus Council. Jim was pre-deceased by his parents, Thomas and Mary Condon, and in addition to his wife and children, he is survived by his siblings, Kathleen, Robert, William (Donna), Patricia and Beth Wohlwend (Allen).  A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Raphael's Catholic Church on Friday, October 30, 2020 at 10am. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in memory of Jim Condon to the USA Triathlon Foundation “Condon Family Fund’ in support of Youth Triathlon at https://usatriathlonfoundation.salsalabs.org/TheCondonFamilyFund or to St. Raphael’s Church at https://www.osvonlinegiving.com/991/Home/NewQuickGive
