Obituary of Don Broderick Knapp, II

Knapp, Don Broderick II, of St. Petersburg passed away on January 3, 2021 at Suncoast Hospice after a brief illness.  Born and raised in Beaver, Pennsylvania he graduated from The Lawrenceville School, Dartmouth, and The Jefferson Medical College.  After serving as a surgeon in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, he made St. Petersburg his home, raising a family and practicing ophthalmology for 46 years.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Sara (Wallace), and his wife, Patricia (Jordan).  He is survived by his daughter, Debbie; son, Colin; daughter-in-law, Caprice (Garing) and beloved granddaughters, Moorea and Etta. A gathering of family and friends in Don's honor will be held on February 4th, 2021 from 5-8PM at the Anderson McQueen Funeral Home, 2201 Dr. M. L. King Street North.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Lighthouse of Pinellas, an organization sharing Don's passion of improving the lives of those with vision impairments.  Those unable to attend may visit the family's personalized guest book at www.AndersonMcQueen.com.
