Obituary of George Glaeser

George Glaeser, age 93, of Pinellas Park, passed away at hospice on December 24, 2020. He was born in Pittsburgh and rode a bus alone to St. Petersburg when he was 16 years old. His family soon joined him in St. Petersburg. George graduated from St. Pete High School in 1945 and then served in the U.S. Navy in WWII. Upon his return, he graduated from Northern Illinois College of Optometry in 1950. He was married to Alice and has one daughter, Leslie and one grandson, Joseph. George was an avid scuba diver and a private pilot. He also enjoyed his time at the casino. A private family service will be held when he is laid to rest at Bay Pines National Cemetery in St. Petersburg, FL. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Empath Hospice.
