Obituary of Paul Martin Haywood
Capt. Marty Haywood, born Sept. 4, 1949 as Paul Martin Haywood, passed away unexpectedly on Jan. 14, 2021 doing what he loved most – fishing. He was on his boat near St. James City, Florida, when he passed. Marty enjoyed the water and fishing from a very young age thanks to his father Paul and a childhood spent in Miami.
While most of his life was spent in Florida, from Key Largo to Tampa, he enjoyed time in other states, including Colorado and Texas. The allure of Florida waters called out to him and he returned to focus on a life that included endless days fishing, living with joy and compassion, and enjoying YouTube, a little Sasquatch and of course his Captain Morgan!
A wonderful and caring husband, father and grandfather, Marty was a good listener and supporter of those he loved. Fishing with his grandchildren was his greatest love, whether off the dock or from the boat. He was the life of every party who loved to share his special sense of humor.
He was predeceased by his parents, Paul and Audrey (Miranda) Haywood. He is survived by his wife Denise Cito, sister Connie Marrocco (Ron), daughters Leslie Haywood (James Hanlon) and Stacy (Neil) Honkala, their mother Lillian Haywood, step-children Jason Cito and Lisa (Cory) Casady, step-grandson Steven Cito, as well as grandchildren Sophia, Jacob, Erica and Kayla Honkala, and Ty and Case Hanlon, and nephew Michael (Cherilyn) Marrocco.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Jan. 30th at 3PM at 4135 Saltwater Boulevard Tampa, FL 33615
Dad, your sense of humor and your heart will be with us forever. See you on the water!
