Obituary of Marion Moore

Marion Moore, 96 of St Petersburg Fl passed away peacefully on April 28, in her home surrounded by her adoring family.  Marion was born April 10, 1925 and grew up in Cincinnati, OH where she graduated from Walnut Hills High School and the University of Cincinnati.  During college she served as the President of her sorority, Zeta Tau Alpha and remained a member for over 75 years.   She fell madly in love and married her husband Bob in 1948 and in 1950 they moved to Florida where they began their family of four children.  Marion loved to learn and to teach and was a dedicated teacher for 25 years.  She was respected by her students and faculty at the Azalea Junior High.  During her teaching career she was active in the Delta Kappa Gamma professional women educators organization.  Marion and Bob traveled the world together from China to Alaska! Their favorite trips were their European river cruises. They climbed to the bottom of the Grand Canyon in their 50’s and waved to the Bison as they snowmobiled through a frozen Yellowstone Park in their late 70’s.  She was always ready for an adventure and always had the greatest story to share of their travels. 

She is survived by her husband of 73 years, Robert Moore and daughters Pamela Kirk of Pensacola, Wendy and her husband Bob Bloomer of St Petersburg and Jennifer and her husband Steve Kennard of Phoenix, AZ.  Also her two loving grandsons Ryan and Jason Kirk and his wife Brittany and three great grandchildren, Haileigh, Carter and Camden.  She is proceeded in death by her son Michael Sean Moore, her sister Katherine Martin and brother Max Hadrika.

Her smart, kind and funny ways will always be a part of who we are as a family.  She was a loving wife, mother and friend.  She would get us through the hardest of times with her eternally optimistic attitude, a joke or a song and dance.  She was a phenomenal storyteller and had the unique ability to laugh at herself.  We will miss her forever.  Join us in a celebration of her happy and extraordinary life on Saturday May 22^nd at the Anderson McQueen Funeral Home from 2:00 to 4:00
