Obituary of Betty Jo Pinkerton
Betty Jo Pinkerton, 89, of St. Petersburg, FL passed away on May 16, 2021 at Magnolia Gardens. Born and raised in Clanton, AL on June 13, 1931 to the late Mae and Marvin Lawson. Betty Jo moved to Florida in 1946 where she then worked at Webb City. She became a member of the Moose Club and First Baptist Church. Betty was an avid bowler, competing in city and state tournaments.
Additionally to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Ron Pinkerton, Sr.; daughter, Anitha (survived by husband, Erroll) Broud; Debra Jackson; five sisters and one brother. She is survived by her daughter, Tina (Charles Hoffman) Pinkerton of St. Petersburg, FL; sister, Judy Thompson of California; niece, Tammy (Jimmy) Perry; brother-in-law, Buster Brooks and his son, Jeff (wife, Karen and daughter, Abi) Brooks; grandchildren, Joel Steck and his daughter, Jolie Steck, Shawn (Shanna) Jackson and their children, Randy and Aubree and Nikki Jackson, all of Florida and Jim (Becky) Howard, Teresa (Jim) Doseck, Kim Howard and Danielle (Eric) Sielschott, all of Ohio; 7 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren, all of Ohio.
A Celebration of Betty Jo's Life will be held on Saturday, June 5th at Anderson McQueen Funeral Home, 2201 Dr. MLK Street North. A Gathering of Friends and Family will take place from 10:30-11 with the service at 11am.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Betty Jo’s name to Season’s Hospice.
