Obituary of Joan Marie Waterbury

Joan Marie Waterbury, 90, of St. Petersburg embraced the eternal reward she sought on June 17, 2021, with family at her side. Born October 23, 1930 in Bogota, New Jersey to Fred and Rose Coghlan and married June 6, 1953 to Edward Waterbury at St. Joseph Catholic Church.  Joan was easy to love.  Remarkable in her humor, depth of literary interests, patience, gratefulness, and fidelity to family and God.  Joan was especially close with her sister Carol and had a cherished lifetime friendship with Betty Freitag.  Appreciative and undemanding to her caregivers, Joan demonstrated how she interacted with family and friends throughout life.  Joan was blessed with 7 children (Dawn Marie, Scott, Mark, Drew, David, Matthew, Damian), 26 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.  Joan’s final message to her family was that she was happy to move on, and that she hoped they would be happy for her. A private memorial service will be held on June 23^rd, followed by interment at Calvary Catholic Cemetery 5233 118th Avenue North, Clearwater, FL.
