Carol was the only daughter of Edward & Elzira Kemp and was raised on their dairy farm in northern Utah. She was an accomplished pianist and organist and worked in a hospital in Logan, Utah where she met her husband, Harold B. Allen. During their loving, 56-year marriage they lived in Utah, Maryland, Washington, Massachusetts and 44 years in St. Petersburg, Florida as Harold worked for the National Marine Fisheries Service. Carol worked at the Museum of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg for 22 years as Volunteer Coordinator and then as the Coordinator of Special Exhibitions. She enjoyed and appreciated the arts, and the coastal lifestyle in Florida.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and is survived by a son, Monty Allen (Mary), and two daughters, Marie Allen and Linda Lynch, as well as her grandchildren, Christopher Lynch, Eric Muehlstein, Emily Lumsden (Randy), David Allen (Alison), and her great-grandchildren Joseph Lynch and Wren Lumsden.
