Obituary of Matthew Michael Nigro

83, of St. Petersburg died on July 26, 2021 at St. Anthony's Hospital. Born and raised in Berkeley Heights, NJ to the late Michael Angelo and Jeanette Nigro on July 26, 1938. Matt graduated from New Jersey Institute of Technology with a Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering then went on to Steven's Institute for his Master's in Chemical Engineering. He worked and retired from American Cyanamid after 40 years. Matt spent the majority of his career as a production startup manager in South America and Europe and subsequently as a consultant in Sicily and Dublin. Matt was a great cook and enjoyed gardening. He loved playing bridge and was a member of the St. Petersburg Bridge Club. He was also the Treasurer of the Historic Roser Park Neighborhood Association. In addition to his parents, Matt was predeceased by his brother, Michael Nigro. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Susan Nigro; son, Michael Matthew Nigro; daughters, Alyssa Freeman and Sara (Trey) McDonald; brothers, John (Rosemary) Nigro and Bruce (Meara) Nigro; nephews, Joseph and Jason Nigro and niece, Dana Nigro. A celebration of Matt's life will be held at a later date.
