Our brother Eric Mallay also known as Rixie died peacefully
on the 12th October 2021 after a long illness in Clearwater Florida.
Eric was the son of the late Joseph and Rosaline Mallay
of Port Mount Guyana. He never forgot his roots and was always willing
To assist family and friends in the USA. Many stayed with him and Zorina
as they started life in America.
Eric's generosity will always be remembered especially during the period
when I was at home at Port Mourant in the 1970s always sending us gifts
and/or a few dollars. He never forgot Norma, wanting to make sure
She was comfortable, which she now is.
Now our dearest brother, on the last night here on earth,
you will be leaving your loved ones to be with our heavenly Father
in greater glory and to join with those we loved but see no longer.
Eric, Rest in Peace, your kindness will always be remembered,
especially by your loving brothers and sisters and their families.
Rest in Peace
God Bless You
Elaine (Mallay) Papaloizou

My sincere condolences to Zor and the children. Also my sincere condolences to all his siblings who are grieving his loss, Frederick, Elaine, Elsie, Cedric, Eva, Oswald, Norma, Barbara & Buster. I have fond memories of Eric growing up, spending time in Port Mourant and then meeting up with him and Zor in 1999, at family weddings, celebrations and funerals. Eric was very kind and generous to his family and loved ones. I remember my visit with him and Zor in FL, it is one of my fondest memories of him. Eric loved my mom, his aunty Flor and always spoke so warmly about her. I remember at her funeral, he had us in stitches with so many stories of our upbringing, all the while never cracking a smile. He never advertised what all he did for his family, just quietly went about doing his random acts of kindness. I pray for God's comfort for Zor and all my cousins who are all grieving his loss.
"May Angels sing thee to thy Rest Eric" Rest in Peace my dear cousin, give my love to all our loved ones you meet in heaven.

Eric Mallay, a wonderful brother- in-law, is now resting eternally. I met Eric and admired him from the days when we attended Berbice Educational Institute, where his eldest brother, Fred, was a teacher . After high school, Eric later joined the Army and I went on to Teachers’ College , where I met and married his sister, Eva. My closeness to Eric and the Mallays continued to this day, always there supporting and helping each other in positive ways. I am very grateful to Eric and Fred and Fred for sponsoring my family to migrate to US, something Eric has done for other families too. Everyone he sponsored has successfully built wonderful families here in US. Eric moved from NY to Florida, a state he loved very much, where he did what he loved best....business. He made sure he attended every family event...weddings/ celebrations; also funeral of dear ones. In the happier times, he was the live wire , holding down everyone, especially nieces and nephews, to jokes or family history ...of fun and good old memories of his loving Deceased parents, Joseph and Rosaline Mallay ; of siblings and other relatives thus enlightening our children with what a loving upbringing he and siblings enjoyed in Port Mourant, Guyana. My dear brother-in-laW, we had good times with you here on Earth, and I pray that as you depart this earthly life You Rest in Peace I our loving Savior.

Condolences to Eva, Cedric, Oswald, Federick, Elaine, Elsie and Eric's 'Other' Relatives.
I remember Eric when he stayed with us in Smythfield while he attended BEI, if I am not mistaken, since I was a 'Small' Boy.
Very seldom was he 'called' Eric, always 'Rixie'
Coming to think of it, the Male Children of Aunty Glory were never called by their 'Proper' Names, always a 'Call Name', Federick, Patrick, Eric, Cedric and Oswald all had 'Call Names'
RIP
