Obituary of Margaret Dodd

Margaret Clare Dodd, 101, passed away on November 11, 2021. Born February 29, 1920 in Indianapolis, IN to George & Vivian Barnett.  

Margaret and her family moved to the Tampa Bay Area in 1975, before settling in the Colony in 1978 where she made several long-lasting friendships in the community. There she remained until soon after her husband's passing in 2013, when she moved in with her loving daughter, Peggy, in Largo, FL.

Margaret is preceded in passing by her husband of 75 years, Leonard, and her two siblings. She is survived by her daughter, Peggy; one grandson, Ryan; two great-grandchildren, Dakota and Savannah; two great-great-grandchildren, Khloe and Mia; and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.  

In her later years, Margaret enjoyed traveling with her husband Leonard and spending her time with her family. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and playing scrabble; and had quite a talent for oil painting. Margaret also spent lots of her time reading, even up until her final few days. She cherished her friends and family, and was a beautifully generous soul who will be eternally missed.  

A committal service will be held at Florida National Cemetery on Thursday, November 18th at 1:00 pm, where she will be laid to rest alongside her husband, who was a WWII Veteran and Purple Heart recipient. Flowers are welcome and can be sent to Anderson McQueen Funeral Home.
