Jane Lane

Obituary of Jane Akins Lane

LANE, Jane Akins

Born on November 19, 1948 in Atlanta, Georgia, went to Heaven on November 21, 2021. She was surrounded by her daughters Jennifer Lane Valk and Amanda LaPointe Lane. Jane Lane was co-owner/founder of Mariner Car Wash and Detailing Center since June of 1988. Before that, she was a realtor for Century 21 and owner of Arabesque Fragrance. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and a supporter of the Southeastern Guide Dogs. Her true calling likely should have been interior decorating as she had a flair for making all spaces beautiful, comforting, and welcoming.

Jane was married to her adoring husband, Dick Lane, for 51 years before his passing in July 2018. They both loved snow skiing, barefoot water skiing, boating, driving their Porsches at Sebring International Speedway and belonged to the Suncoast Porsche Club of America.  They were adventurous and true partners in life and in business. They were soulmates. They are now joined forever in Heaven.

Jane was known for her kindness, empathetic heart, generosity, and willingness to give anyone a hug who needed it.  She was loving, compassionate and a caregiver to all.

Most of all, she was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother (Meme), great grandmother, aunt, and loving owner to her car wash family. They were her world. Her beautiful light will always shine over us from Heaven as her kind heart and presence will never be forgotten.

She is survived by her loving daughters Jennifer Lane Valk and Amanda LaPointe Lane. Her granddaughters Erica Marie Ritter and her husband Ryan Ritter, Sara Jane Abramo and her sons Ian Lane Abramo, Zack Akins Abramo and CJ Francis Abramo. She is also survived by her sister Jill Cullum.  She is predeceased by her parents JC and Millie Akins, her brother Chad Akins and sisters Sue Martin and Judith Brown.
