Obituary of Charles Stephen Kaplan

Charles Stephen “Steve” Kaplan of Pinellas Park, FL passed away at the age of 72 at Northside Hospital on Monday, December 6, 2021. Born to Elizabeth and Charles Kaplan, he was raised in Falls Church, VA where he attended George Mason High School and later graduated from Lynchburg College. Steve was married to his wife, Donna Lynn Rood, for 36 years before her unexpected passing in 2016. He is survived by their daughter, Jennifer, (who will forever miss his biannual reminders to set her clocks forward or back according to the season,) as well as his siblings Robert “Bob” Kaplan and Sandra “Sandi” Darracott, and his loyal canine companion, Midnight. Lover of classic rock, desserts, and action movies, he will be greatly missed by his family and all those who appreciated his quiet humor. No memorial service is being arranged. In lieu of flowers we encourage donations to the American Diabetes Association.
