Obituary of Wendon W. Henton

Wendon W. Henton, 80, passed away December 15, 2021 at his home in Largo, Florida. He was born in Kansas City, Missouri on October 27, 1941 and lived a life filled with notable accreditations.

He obtained his Bachelor of Arts, Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy at Florida State University. He served in the army and was a U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Officer as well, serving as a captain. He was a research psychologist, senior scientist and lab chief for the FDA, Health & Human Services and Public Health Services, Walter Reed Army Institute and New Mexico State University.

He was also a research scientist at Oxford University in England and University of Copenhagen, Denmark and thoroughly loved living abroad in England, Denmark, Paris, Amsterdam, Brussels and Luxembourg.

He authored a textbook "Classical Conditioning and Operant Conditioning" as well as a great many journals and publications.

He was a beloved uncle and best friend to his niece, Shawn Leahy, for over 50 years and delighted in their frequent outings of horse races and exploring upscale restaurants as they opened in our state. He is deeply missed.
