Obituary of Jimmie W. Bonbright

Bonbright, Jimmie Ward, 85, of St, Petersburg passed away January 2, 2022 at home. He was born in Dayton, Ohio on May 30, 1936 and moved to St. Petersburg with his parents where he attended St. Petersburg High School. He went on to attend University of Miami where he graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration. He then entered the Army where he earned the Good Conduct Medal as a PFC. After serving his country, he relocated back to Dayton, Ohio where he owned and managed Bonbright Distributors, Inc. He retired to St. Petersburg, Florida and purchased The Old New York New York in Clearwater, Florida where he had good times and made great friends. He was a great dad, an avid water skier, a good friend and neighbor, a constant comedian, a huge supporter of animal welfare, and a shitty golfer. He was pre-deceased by his parents Ruth and Carl Bonbright and his son-in-law W. Adam Brown. He is survived by his daughters Carla G. Brown, Cathy L. Bleasdell (Don), and Carey L. Klaus (Scott). His grandchildren Morgan L. Browning (Kevin), Luke A. Brown, Chloe M. Konkus (Taylor), Bernadette E. Brown, John M. (Jack) Brown (Julia), Sadie A. Brown; Ali M. Bleasdell, Tyler D. Bleasdell, Emma L. Bleasdell; Kolten M. Klaus. And his great-grandchildren Anabelle, Betty, William, and Jane Browning; and Rosemary, Caroline, and Amelia Konkus. The funeral service will be at Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Ave., Bushnell, Florida 33513, Wed. January 12, 2022 at 11:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Pet Pal (or an animal welfare organization of your choice), Metropolitan Ministries of Tampa, or PARC of St. Petersburg.
