Obituary of Gloria Lewallen

Gloria passed away on January 8 in Sarasota, Florida. After growing up in Yonkers, New York, Gloria moved to St. Petersburg, FL where she met the love of her life, Dr. Linwood Lewallen, on the Bartlett Park tennis courts. Gloria was active in community service through the United States Power Squadron, Junior Woman’s Club, Woman’s Service League, Museum of Fine Arts, past president of the State Veterinary Association and a life member of the Salty Sisters St. Petersburg Yacht Club. She served on the board of the Florida State Tennis Association and volunteered for the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. She was a retired Real Estate Broker. Her vivacious personality, sense of humor, and charm will be missed dearly by all who knew her. The light of her life were her grandchildren: Dr. Greg (Dr. Abby) Peters and Drew (Ashley) Peters, along with her great grandchildren: Caroline, Savannah, Luke, Easton and Hannah Peters. She is also survived by her daughters: Dr. Linda Lewallen and Laura (Gaylon) Peters. Her daughter, Lana Lewallen, and husband, Dr. Linwood Lewallen, preceded her in death. Per her wishes, a private graveside service will be held at a later date.
