Norval Wise

Obituary of Norval Wise

February 22, 2022 at 1 a.m. an amazing man took his last breath on earth and became present with God.

PFC Norval Ray Wise, a son to Carl and Verna, his mom taught him resilience and how to appreciate a simple life. Growing up in West Virginia with his brothers and sisters Marguerite, Jack, Violet, Juanita, Richard, Hattie, Clara, and Goldie led to quite a few humorous stories that he loved to share. He learned about family, togetherness, and gained strength that helped him grow to be the man we all looked up to. He told the stories about his time serving in the Army, driving  a cement truck, working a printing press, but his fondest memories were his days working on the railroad. Pinellas County Transportation is where he met his beautiful wife, Carol Wise. They celebrated 25 years of marriage and he missed her every second that he had on this earth without her.

His son-in-law, Kris, got to spend the morning thanking him for being an example of continuous faith and teaching him about love, family, and home repairs.

His final words to his grandchildren Casandra (Keith), Courtney (Zach) and Welker were “Remember I love you. Don’t cry, it’s going to be okay, let go and let God.”

His final words to his daughter Cara were “Well, I think I did everything now, I got to tell some special people I love them and I’m all done.”

Whether you knew him as Son, Dad, Grandpa, Brother, Uncle, or Friend, you knew his love. Remembering a storyteller can be difficult because we know that he would be able to share his life in a way no one else can. We don’t want to forget the moments of adventure found on trains, the sadness of a lost guitar, or the love spread over 89 years. If all else is forgotten, he asked that we all remember that he loved Jesus, had a heart to serve, and wants to see you in heaven with him.
