Obituary of Elizabeth Beers Embree

Elizabeth Beers Embree (Liz) of St. Petersburg, passed away on March 29th, 2022 surrounded by the love of her family and the prayers of many. Born April 5th, 1958 in St. Petersburg, Florida, she graduated from St. Petersburg Catholic High School in 1976 and from USF with a degree in Business. She worked in the title insurance business for over 30 years, beginning her career working with her parents at Title Security, Inc. Most recently, Liz found her home working in St. Paul’s Parish office, something she loved dearly and found very fulfilling.

Soulmates, Liz and Jim were married June 2nd, 1984, and raised 6 beautiful children. She helped her children to find their own path, guiding them with patience and kindness, always encouraging, and forgiving, effortlessly making everyone feel special and important.

Her devotion to her faith culminated in countless hours volunteering at St. Paul’s Catholic Church and School beginning in 1990 until present day. She was a member of the PTA, pioneered the silent auction, and was a soccer and Girl Scout cookie mom. Aside from her school involvement, her church participation embodied her complete selflessness. She was a philanthropist with her time and her love of cooking provided for those in need at St. Vincent De Paul, her parish and her community. In recognition of Liz’s distinguished, outstanding service to the diocese she was awarded the St. Jude the Apostle Medal in 2014.

Liz was incredibly artistic and creative. She shared her talents crafting gifts and baking for her family and countless friends. Numerous events at St. Paul’s allowed for her talents to shine through at the annual festival, creating beautiful banners, decorating the convent for the holidays, and countless other events. She had a beautiful smile, a heart of gold and deep faith. She was incredibly kind and her love touched many lives. And you always felt it with her individually wrapped cookie plates.

Liz was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother and a friend to many.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Archie and Anita Beers; May and Bert Embree and her son Eric Embree. She is survived by her husband Jim, her sons Jimmy (Elaina), Mark (Emily) and Johnny, two daughters Laura and Jenny; Grandchildren Cooper, Luci and Teddy Embree; sisters Mary Anne Beers, Shelley Ray (Mike) and her brother Mark Beers (LeeAnn); nieces Erin Pergola, Sarah Ray, Alyssa and Amanda Beers; nephews Will Embree, Brian and Drew Ray.

Liz, who was always viewed as an angel on Earth is now our angel in Heaven.
