Joseph Napier

Obituary of Joseph C. Napier

Joseph fell asleep in the arms of his lord Thursday, March 31, 2022. He passed away peacefully in his sleep. He fought a hard fight with all the sickness that he had. But, all the sickness won out Thursday. Now he is once again a whole healthy man. No more sickness.

Joe was born on Feb. 18, 1966 in St. Petersburg, FL. to his father, Offutt Napier, and his mother, Amy Napier. His mother passed away in 1973. Joe worked at Goodwill and several restaurants in St. Pete before the sickness took over his whole body.

Joe loved to hunt and fish with his dad. Every body of water that he came to while out and about, he would talk about the fish that might be caught from them. He was constantly fishing the lake in the Gateway Mobil Home Park where he lived, and in the bay off of Gandy with a friend. Joe was a strong Gator fan; especially the football team. He also loved the Tampa Bay Bucs, but he lived and breathed Gator’s.

He and his companion of 30 years, Jean Tranchina, enjoyed themselves together as a pair, or with others as a crowd. They were always attending functions at the trailer park together. If you met Joseph, you would like him. He made friends so easy, always smiling and laughing with you while all the time he was in some sort of pain. When he should have been home tending to his wounds, he would go out and do something. He couldn’t sit still; he must be doing something all the time. Although he has a serious sickness, if his good friend, Linda Puckett, would ask him to go with her some place, he jumped at the chance. He just couldn’t sit still for any period of time; he would not let his sickness get him down.

We may not have Joseph any more alive, but we will always have him in our hearts forever; and, he will have no more pain.

Joseph leaves behind his companion, Jean Tranchina, of 30 years, his father, Offutt C. Napier, aka Joe; aunts, Gail Mosbacker of Omaha, Jean Kaylor of Jackson, MS, Sue Cramer of Peoria, and Carolyn Burzumato of The Villages. An uncle, Maleom “Skip” Napier and several cousins.
