Obituary of Sidney Smith Miner

Miner, Sidney Smith “Sid”

On Wednesday, April 13, 2022, Sid Miner, dedicated husband, father, brother, and son, passed away at 40 years old in Crystal River, Florida.

Sid Miner was born on January 21, 1982 in St. Petersburg, FL. He graduated from St. Petersburg Catholic High School in 2000. He completed a number of programs from Pinellas Technical College, demonstrating his many mechanical and technical strengths. In 2003, he married his first love and best friend, Bethany Miner. He moved to Crystal River in 2007 and was very proud of his work leading Baker Distributing Co.’s local operations. He spent his days appreciating family, friends, and all the animals at the Miner family farm.

Sid was a steady, loving presence in so many lives. He always answered the call when someone was in need. He could address any problem by engaging his brilliant mechanical skills, sharp sense of humor, and strong embrace. He was his kids’ favorite playmate, always willing to pick up a controller or learn a new game. He could recite endless football statistics and was a loyal Florida football fan (Go Gators!).

Sid was preceded in death by his father, Sidney A Miner, Jr. He is survived by his mother, Pam, his wife, Bethany, his four children, Sidney, John, Barbara, and Lucas, his sisters, Katherine (Jim) and Jennifer (Justin), and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Friday, April 22, from 4:00pm-7:00pm, at Anderson McQueen 2201 Dr. M.L.K. Jr. St. N. St. Petersburg, FL 33704. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, April 23, at 10:00 am, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 200 78th Avenue NE, St. Petersburg FL. 33702.
