Bobby Jarvis

Obituary of Bobby G. Jarvis

Bobby G, 92, went home to his Lord and Savior Sunday, June 12, 2022. He was surrounded by his loving family.

As a young boy, he spent most of his time with his grandparents in Wortham, Missouri. After graduation, he proudly served his country in Alaska as an Airforce Radar Specialist. The skills he acquired in the Airforce enabled him to gain employment at McDonnell Douglas where he worked for 41 years as a mechanic on the Phantom F-4, F-15, and the Apollo space program. Bobby traveled for the company sharing his wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm for his skills. He always said that he enjoyed every day that he worked.

And that was Bobby, he enjoyed life. He loved to fix things and would creatively build things to improve his family’s quality of life. He loved to sing and passed down his love of music to his kids and grandchildren. Bobby sang in the choir at Berkeley Baptist church where he also served as a deacon. He loved to be active and was involved with the Southern Baptist Association helping build churches. One of the biggest thrills of his life was being nominated by his superiors from McDonnell Douglas and being chosen to take a ride in the F-15E. In his retirement, he enjoyed staying active at the pool at Lake Seminole Resort.

On January 14, 1956, Bobby G married the love of his life, Alice Lea Akers. Bobby & Alice enjoyed nearly 67 years of married life. He loved his bride deeply, even to his last breath, and was always concerned about her wellbeing.

Bobby Gale Jarvis is survived by his loving wife Alice; four children Philip Gale Jarvis & Kate, Levenda Sommers & Phill, Robert Jarvis & Anne, Lisa Wood & David; 7 grandchildren: Christopher Gale Jarvis, Joshua Lococo, Brian Jarvis, Jessica Murphy, Leah Windham, Carley Aranda, Marti Sommers; 4 great-grandchildren: Rexton Gale Jarvis, Tanner Windham, Cole Jarvis, Hayes Aranda; and brother Glenn.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Ronald & Larry, and grandson Nathan.

He will be interred with military honors in Bay Pines National Cemetery on Monday, June 20, 2022 at 11:00am.
