I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of Bill, especially at such an early age. It's been quite some time since I last talked with him, but his help in the early 90's (before he had even opened his own shop) was invaluable in me setting up my appraisal business (especially on the technical end). I can just imagine the look he would give me if he were to find out that after all this time I am still no better with computers the I was back then.
While I had my pilots lic. by the time Bill had to ditch an airplane in the Bay, regrettably I never flew with him. Though I will admit I don't regret not being on board that day. I do remember a conversation about it with him, and him feeling that it was no big deal except for the loss of the aircraft.
He was a good person that deserved a longer life and was one of those adventures people that could have used one. RIP Bill.

I'm so saddened to hear about Bill's passing. I met Bill and his brother Ed at an Airstream camp at Burning man 10+years ago. We remained friends ever since. He was so fun and had a great sense of humor. I just spoke to him recently about planning a trip to Black Rock city. I'm glad I got to speak to him one more time. Bill and Ed both will be greatly missed. Prayers sent to his family.
