Loretta Mammano

Obituary of Loretta Mammano

Our Gramma, Loretta Mammano, has passed away at 92 years of age on September 21st 2022 in St. Petersburg Florida. Loretta will join her husband, Joe, at St. Adalbert Cemetery in Niles Illinois. Loretta is survived by her great granddaughter, Kristi (Justin); her granddaughters Kelly (Brandon), and Sherry; her son Jerry (Sharon); her daughter Jean; and many nieces and nephews. Loretta was proceeded in passing by her youngest son, John; her husband, Joseph; her siblings Geraldine (Pete), and Rich (Josephine); and her parents John (Tessie).

Loretta’s attitude on life was “I do what I want”, she said it often, and she meant it. She collected rocks on her travels with her husband and treasured them. So much so that we’d continue to bring her rocks as gifts from our travels. She enjoyed sitting in her mother’s rocking chair and watching the birds eat the food she’d leave for them. She enjoyed cooking large dinners for her family to gather with her. She took very good care of her family. It was important to her. When Kelly and Kristi would say “I love you, Gramma”, she would always respond “I love you more.”. Her laugh, smile, and love will be remembered and missed by all who knew her. I love you more, Gramma.

Loretta’s memorial service will be Monday, October 3rd 2022 6 – 8 pm at Anderson McQueen funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St Jude Children’s Research Hospital at stjude.org. Loretta used to give monthly.
