Obituary of Ruth M. Mattick

Mattick, Ruth M. (88) of St. Petersburg, Florida, passed away October 14th, 2022. She was born in Chicago, Illinois on August 6th, 1934 and later met her loving husband, Donald Mattick. The two of them raised 5 children in Villa Park, IL until the time they retired and moved down here to St. Petersburg, FL in 1987 – where they have lived happily ever since.  

Ruth thoroughly enjoyed doing crafts and took great pleasure in hand-making rosaries for St. Raphael’s Catholic Church, where she was appointed Rosary Chairman for 25 years. Her and her husband, Donald, ran the gift shop at St. Raphael’s and were both proud participants of the Cursillo Movement. She also was president of the Counsel of Catholic Women here in Florida and up in Villa Park, received the St. Jude Award, and made friends with anyone and everyone she came across.  

Ruth was preceded in death by her daughter, Sharon Mattick, and is survived by her beloved husband, Donald, and their four other wonderful children - Patricia A. Sippel of Bartow, FL, Lois R. (Ronald) Voigts of Clearwater, Paul (Donna) Mattick of St. Petersburg, FL, and Phillip (Paula) Mattick of Chickasha, OK. She also was blessed to be a grandmother, great grandmother, and great great-grandmother.
