Obituary of Priscilla W. Young

Young, Priscilla, 90, of St. Petersburg passed away on October 13, 2022 at St. Anthony’s Hospital. Born in 1932 in Narrangansett, Rhode Island, she was preceded in death by her parents, Audrey Hearn Scott and stepfather James Harmon; her first husband Calvin Lee Schwark and her second husband, Elbert Young. Priscilla is survived by her son Calvin Lee Schwark, Jr. and daughter Linda Lacock; her half-brother Jim Harmon, grandchildren, Justin & Kristen Lacock, Chelsey & Drew Porter; great grandchildren Asher, Elynn, Carolina and Jackson.

Priscilla attended South Kingston Highschool and University of Rhode Island. In her younger years, adventurous Priscilla raced sailboats from Miami to Cuba in an all-woman crew. Priscilla was very loving and independent. She was not only beautiful but carried herself with grace and elegance in all she did. She was fiercely loyal to her family and friends. She enjoyed world travel but especially to her summer home in Wickford, Rhode Island. Priscilla loved the arts and the symphony. She retired from the Pinellas County Tax Collectors office and in her later years belonged to the Stuart Society, St. Anthony’s Auxiliary Guild, contributed for twenty years to the St. Petersburg Museum of Fine Arts, Arts in Blooms event and was a member of the St. Petersburg Yacht Club and St. Petersburg Country Club. Priscilla was a faithful member of St. Matthew’s Episcopalian Church. She will be greatly missed.
