Mark Parrish

Obituary of Mark Parrish

John Mark Parrish, 70, of St. Petersburg passed away the morning of October 26th, 2022 after a 9-year battle with metastatic colon cancer. Mark was born and raised in St. Petersburg, Florida. After graduating from Bishop Barry High School, Mark went on to become a residential designer in the Tampa Bay area for nearly 50 years. He is preceded in death by his parents, John Parrish and Martha Morrissey. Mark is survived by his wife Carol Sharpe-Parrish, his son Zachary Parrish, and his siblings Lee Parrish and Priscilla Parrish.

Mark was a loving husband and father and a loyal friend. He had a love of animals, with a special fondness for cats. Mark enjoyed being outside in the sun whether it was watering a neighbor’s tree or hiking in the Blue Ridge Parkway at an earlier age. As a proud member of the Porsche Club of America, Mark also enjoyed listening to classical music while driving one of his two Porsches. On his down time, Mark loved sitting by a window, reading the latest Carl Hiaasen book or one of his favorite car magazines.

A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held at his sister’s home on Saturday, November 5th, 2022 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at 1898 Dolphin Blvd South, Saint Petersburg, Florida. Family and friends are invited to come and share fond memories and stories. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude’s Research Hospital, an organization Mark felt strongly about.

He will be missed by his family, friends, colleagues, and neighbors.
