Obituary of Joan Marie Falasca

Falasca, Joan Marie (Walsh), 69, of St. Petersburg, FL passed away December 2, 2022, in her home, surrounded by her husband and children. Born and raised in Dunmore, PA she graduated from Dunmore Central Catholic High School and went on to earn a BS in Medical Technology from Cedar Crest College in Allentown, PA. Joan and her husband and children lived in Bethlehem, PA for more than 35 years before retiring to Florida. She worked as a Medical Technologist at several hospitals in the Lehigh Valley, particularly St. Luke’s and Lehigh Valley Health Network. Joan was a kind and caring wife, mother, and friend. Her openness and generous personality made her a friend to all those she encountered. She was an avid quilter and knitter, creating valued gifts for both family and friends. She loved art, history, Broadway shows and travel, making frequent trips to the Hudson Valley to visit and tour Hyde Park and the other mansions that populate that area. She also loved her cat Shyla and grand-dog Otis. Her gentle way and loving soul will be remembered by all who knew her. Joan was preceded in death by her parents, William, and Jeanne Walsh. She is survived by her husband Gary, son Geoffrey, daughter Kate Bonstein and grandchildren Shae, Sienna and Jakob Bonstein, brothers William and Thomas Walsh and sister Ann Marzolino along with numerous nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, December 16, 2022, at 10am at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel church in Dunmore, PA. Visitation will be at the church from 9:30 to 10am.
