Obituary of Stephen George Gayon
Gayon, Stephen “Steve” George, 73, of St. Petersburg passed away on December 22nd, 2022, at
Bayfront Medical Center in the Hospice Care Center. Born in Youngstown, Ohio, Steve lived in
Youngstown, Salem and Columbiana Ohio, graduating from Columbiana High School and attended
Youngstown State.
Steve enjoyed all-things Sports. He was an avid Tampa Bay Rays fan and rarely, if ever, missed a gameduring his 10-years as a Season Ticket holder. He played and watched golf and happily recounted his hole-in-one at the Valley Golf Course in Columbiana. He enjoyed College Basketball, College, and Pro Football, with a fondness for Ohio State. Steve enjoyed coaching Little League Baseball and Basketball as well.
Steve faithfully tended a garden and was immensely proud of what he produced. He was always available with a weather prediction for any family outing and was the trusted family videographer. Steve was in sales, working for Bank’s Supply Company, US Bank and most recently retired from Publix.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Stephen Martin Gayon and Thelma Peebles Gayon Anglemyer and his nephew Scott E Miller. Steve is survived by his wife of 32 years, Cathy Bailey Gayon; his children, Stephanie (Rob) Smith, Stephen C Gayon, Megan (Marcus) Lynch and Andrew D Gayon, his grandchildren, Mackenzie Gayon, Mackenzie McLendon, Kiara Nesbitt and Marcus (MJ) Lynch, his sisters Kathy Miller (Ed), Karen Smith (Alan Falk), Becky Crowl and many nieces and nephews.
At Steve’s request there will be no service.
