Obituary of Robert Frederick Michael JR

Robert Frederick Michael, Jr. went to heaven to be with Jesus on Friday January 27, 2023, six years after a partially debilitating heart attack.   He was born in 1930 in Greensboro, North Carolina.

He left his loving family, wife Gail after 68 years of marriage, daughter Laura (Tom) Spangler, daughter Lisa (Jeff) Cesta, son Bo Michael and deceased son David.  Also, a brother, William Michael, sister-in-law Taffey (John) Lichter, And brother- in-law Ernest McCutcheon.

He had eleven grandchildren.  David Michael, Julianne (Jon) Saltis , Jennifer Michael, Joy Michael, Michael (Melissa) Spangler, Luke (Molly) Spangler, Elizabeth (Ian) Eagleston, and Mark Spangler, Christina Cesta, Julia Cesta, and Jenna Cesta.  He left 6 great-grandchildren.

Throughout their marriage, Bob and Gail were blessed to be members of the Presbyterian Church, both serving as elders.

After school at Duke University, he served in the Air Force and then Stetson Law School.  Bob was a Juvenile Judge and then Circuit Judge in Pinellas County

His biggest joy was being with family.  He said a sitting judge should not take the time of to play golf, so he started playing golf after his retirement.
