Obituary of Janet M Renneker
Janet M Renneker of St. Petersburg passed away on March 18th at Suncoast Hospice Care Center. Janet was born and raised in Cincinnati Ohio but made her home in Ashland, Ky where she and her husband of over 50 years Edward B Renneker raised 6 children. Edward preceded her in death in 2016. Janet was a homemaker and in her later years before leaving Ashland was an Aid at the local hospital tending to those in need. Her and Edward retired in St Petersburg in 1996 where they spent many happy years. She is survived by 6 children, Sharon Prichard, Dave (Dori) Renneker, Thomas Renneker, Gerald (Kim) Renneker, Donald (Brenda) Renneker, Nancy (George) Oswald, 23 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Janet spent her spare time reading and sewing and decorating her home around the holidays. Her passion was her husband, her family, and her faith. In her younger years with Ed, she would be known to dance a waltz or two. She had a zest for life and was independent to the end.
One of her favorite sayings was "get a laugh a day and you will live a happier, longer life." She did exactly that to the end, even while at hospice. Her legacy as a caring thoughtful mother, grandmother and great grandmother and neighbor to many in her lifetime will be missed. Janets funeral mass will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Church at 10:00 am on May 5th. She will be interred with Edward at Bay Pines National Cemetery in St. Petersburg.
